You know how they say, "It's the journey NOT the destination"? The same could be said of my blog posts! Haha! So sit back, relax and I PROMISE I'll eventually get to the point! (and I know that's not a perfect metaphor but close enough?)

As June wraps up - let's end with another sale! I keep mentioning how much inventory we have both in our store and the warehouse - and you keep buying stuff - which is incredible and we're so grateful - but things seems to be multiplying when no one is looking - so let's do another massive sale to clear things out!

We do have an "all sales are final" policy so if you just bought something last week and feel bummed that you didn't received a percentage off (which I'm about to tell you about) - please know a couple of things:

  • whatever you purchased last week might have easily sold to someone else even if you'd known about the sale and waited (and, for the record, WE [staff] didn't know about the sale until Tuesday!)
  • every penny (minus our expenses) you spend at Jubilee Furniture is helping those most in need in DuPage County through the programs and services at Outreach. Seriously, the good you're doing shopping at Jubilee Furniture is immense!
  • did you know many of our showroom and warehouse staff are students in an Employee Opportunity Program? Here's Jose's story about his time at Jubilee Furniture (Jose - we miss you so much!). Your "full price" sale last week is helping so much as is your kindness to our students who are learning all sorts of practical skills (how to complete your order paperwork, running the register, loading furniture in your vehicle) and people skills (engaging with you as you shop)
  • maybe whatever you bought last week needs a companion piece and you should come in and check things out and if you purchase something you'll, of course, get to take advantage of the sale! Woot! Winner, winner, chicken dinner!

That's a WHOLE LOT of words and nay a one that actually tells you what this sale is - so let's get to it! This Wednesday, Thursday, Friday and Saturday only AND ONLY AT OUR CAROL STREAM STORE - we'll be taking 25% off your total purchase - no exceptions!

your total purchase - at our Carol Stream store only -
no exceptions!

My photos are a bit "thin" this week - I simply didn't have enough time! Sorry! Truly, what follows is a fraction of what's at our Carol Stream location:

very cool lofted twin size bed with storage and a desk underneath -
in very good condition and priced $395

lovely black wrought iron daybed in excellent condition and priced $195. We still have the three matching poufs from a couple of weeks ago - they're each $10

cool, wicker - by Henry Link for Lexington - wardrobe in very good condition and priced $125

gorgeous camel back sofa in excellent condition and priced $425

very nice blue/green leather sofa for only $75

Flexsteel oversized wingback chair is $55 and there's a ottoman too but I couldn't find a price tag on the ottoman (and we typically sell the two together but the chair price tag doesn't say anything
about an ottoman!). Both are in very good condition

a stain or two (second photo) on this incredible retro side chair - LOVE the pattern/colors - but otherwise in very good condition and priced only $20! This W, Th, F and S only it would be
marked down to $15 plus tax! OH MY GOODNESS!

antique? recliner - has a metal bar that you move to either recline or sit more upright.
Looks like it could use a little wood glue (see last photo). Priced $55. Cool and unique piece!

I'm finding it hard to believe next week is already July 4th! Due to the holiday - BOTH STORES will be open Wednesday, CLOSED ON THURSDAY (4th of July) and then open Friday and Saturday our usual hours! I hope you're doing well, dear reader! Take care!

A BIG "smalls" sale!

Whenever a donor asks if we take collectibles, crystal or china - I say "YES!" because I think it's these "add on" things that make the store more interesting to shop!

I maybe should temper my enthusiastic "YES" to more of a "yes" because we have more "smalls" than we have room for - which is why we're taking 50% OFF décor, dinnerware, kitchenware, indoor pillows, crystal, plates, collectibles, and more! There are a few restrictions (though not many) and this sale does NOT include mirrors, lamps or artwork! This sale is also only at our Carol Stream store.

I hope you can stop by and check out our selection or truly one-of-a-kind "smalls"!

And while you're here - take a look at what's "new" this week! What follows are photos of a few furniture pieces at our Carol Stream location!

this is a GORGEOUS mission style queen size headboard, footboard and side rails! Some minor blemishes on the wood AND there's some trim missing around the bottom of the headboard on the right side (one photo shows left side with the trim and the next photo is the right side where the trim is missing). Easy fix? I'm not sure! Easy to ignore - that depends on you! Haha! The bed is priced ONLY $75! and it really is a beauty! USED queen size mattress hasn't been priced yet and the
USED queen size low profile box spring is $75

speaking of blemishes - there are some on the top of this five drawer chest of drawers
but otherwise in great condition and priced only $35!

you know how it seems like there's a common thread that runs through some of my posts? Some days everything I show you is leather or arts and craft style or whatever! Well, apparently today's post is all about "blemishes" and when I put it like that - it's super unattractive! Sorry! This is a really beautiful 64" round Henredon table with six chairs (two with arms). There are some dings in the wood and I noticed a spot of paint on one of the chairs (one might call them "blemishes" ;-) - but overall this pedestal table and chairs are fantastic! Priced $325

this is an incredible, two piece, mid-century modern, Dyrlund storage piece! A few minor blemishes (sorry! I can't seem to stop!) but overall in excellent condition and priced $1,595.
Probably worth twice that! Measures: 18 1/2" deep and 71 1/2" wide and stands 71" tall

I don't know who desperately needs this FANTASTIC Room & Board stone top table - but someone does and needs to buy it before I do! Please! Measures: 30" by 5" and stands 35" tall from floor to table top and 30 1/2" from floor to table apron. Note the two hooks attached to the inside of the apron. Reminds me of hooks at a bar for you to hang your purse! Not sure what these hooks would be for? A dishcloth? Priced $450 and - wonders never cease - there are no BLEMISHES! None!

wonderful smoked glass and metal coffee table with fabric straps creating a bottom "shelf."
Priced $85 and measures: 21" by 30 1/2" by 19" tall

Sherrill brand sofa in good condition and priced $375. I left my price tag photo because
I think that photo most accurately represents the true fabric color

cool, antique camel back trunk for $75

Lazboy brand teal loveseat and ottoman - priced $195 for both pieces
and both are in very good condition!

I can promise you the word "blemish" is NOT going to appear in my description of this stunningly gorgeous, pristine condition dining set! Be still my heart! Zimmerman Chair - Fine Furniture Makers - is actually a manufacturer I've never come across before! A quick google search got me to their website and it's one of those sites where you "build" your table exactly as you want and there are no prices (and if you have to ask - you're in the wrong place!). This set includes: 44" by 6' table with one 20" extension and six chairs (only one has arms) and table pads. Priced $1,195

lovely glass top oval coffee table (37" by 49" by 17 1/2" tall) with metal base - priced $95. Four piece sectional - wonderful micro-suede fabric in very good condition - both ends recline - priced $275

Bernhardt brand, three piece leather sectional - in very good condition -
just needs some "fluffing" for $175

these lockers are amazing but these photos appear next to the word "blemishes" in the dictionary - so there's that?! Haha! I slightly jest - but these are rough - and a lot of cleaning and possibly a coat of paint is needed though it depends on how "rustic" you like things OR if you want 'em for a basement or garage. We have three - three door lockers (18" by 27 1/2" by 5' tall) and they're priced $15 each and then one, six door locker that's 12" by 3' by 66" tall and it's also $15

incredible stainless steel work station - measures: 29" by 59" and is priced $395.
Two drawers only open on one side (in case that's important to you)

smaller stainless steel work table - measures: 29 1/2" by 47" and there's one drawer (not sure why it's not in the tracks). Advance Tabco is the manufacturer and it's priced $295

rolling stainless steel cart (18" by 27") priced $95

and another rolling stainless steel cart (18" by 30") also priced $95

Well look at that, dear reader - I got through the last few descriptions without using the word "blemishes" once! I can only hope the day continues on this upward trend!
