Tuesday's customer inspiration - Jane's gorgeous dresser!

Thanks for stopping by to see how something purchased in a drab warehouse can look absolutely amazing in someone's home! This week we're invited into Jane's living room. Here's what she wrote:

Hi Susan, I know it's Tuesday today, but I was looking at the blog and the perfect storm hit; phone with camera in hand, clean house, sitting next to my favorite piece in my whole house, the Drexel Dynasty dresser I purchased at Jubilee! While the photo quality is poor I do love how this piece looks, and it is in our living room, one of the few rooms not being taken over by my girls! (But if you listen carefully I think you can hear them making a move for it!)

I love the artwork, lamp, pooled drapes and beautiful oriental rug in Jane's living room!

Here's a photo of the dresser - taken with a flash - when it was at Jubilee Furniture (see the original post here).

So, can you hear Jane's daughters slowly moving into this lovely living room? I think I can! Though better your children than raccoons - which is what's moved into my attic! Mama and - what sounds like - a whole pack of babies!

But I digress.

Jane - thank you so much for taking the time and going to the trouble of emailing me (at sgalbraith@outreachcommin.org)! The Drexel dresser is amazing and looks marvelous in your home!

And thank you, dear reader, for stopping by! I'll see you back here on Friday with my weekly "What's new at Jubilee Furniture?" post!

Take care!

Tuesday's customer inspiration - the tale of Veronica and Jacob's warm and welcoming home and how true love and Jubilee Furniture go hand-in-hand!

I love Veronica's email and as I was reading it thought it would make a sweet story...something along the lines of this:

Once upon a time Veronica and Jacob met, fell madly in love and married in 2009. Due to having lived out of state prior to moving to picturesque Illinois and upon arriving both moving in with roommates who had plenty of furniture - once they tied the knot, neither Veronica nor Jacob owned much in the way of home furnishings. Almost nothing. Alas! Alack! What to do? Thankfully, the newlyweds quickly found Jubilee Furniture and their furniture woes became a thing of the past!

And since every good story - especially those that begin "Once upon a time..." need pictures to go with it, let's take a peek into Veronica and Jacob's lovely home!

Veronica writes: The green chair was the first piece we bought. That's my husband's favorite reading chair. The white papasan chair (my favorite chair) {I can NEVER remember what those round chairs are called! Papasan. Papasan. Papasan.} we also bought at Jubilee. It originally came with a blue chair cushion, but it was pretty worn, so we bought the white one to replace it.

What a lovely spot to sit at the end of the day and catch up with each other!

The desk, the desk lamp and yellow chair all came from Jubilee. {LOVE that desk. Total heart it. Wish it were mine.}

The plant stand also came from Jubilee. The top of the stand was originally a light wood painted with butterflies, but I covered it with some blue fabric. {Butterflies would have made an excellent addition to our story, but robin-egg's blue is also good!}

(Excuse the glare in the picture with all the furniture. Our apartment is pretty small so in order to get far enough to capture everything in the photo we had to take that picture from outside; the glare is from the window.) {What a snug, inviting, wee little space! Well done, Veronica and Jacob!}

P.S. We look forward to stopping by soon! We always love stopping in because you're always so welcoming {ah, thanks!}. Thank you for all you and your staff {yep, they're amazing} do and for providing excellent customer service {we aim to please}. Also, thank you for the free cookies...my husband loves those cookies {he's not the only one! - and you're very, very, welcome!}.

Have you purchased something from Jubilee Furniture that you'd be willing to take a photo or two (or seven like Veronica) and email me at sgalbraith@outreachcommin.org so I could showcase you (please know I'd never share your last name - I'm just careful that way) in the future?

And so Veronica and Jacob became regular customers at Jubilee Furniture due to both the endless inventory of fantastic furniture and free cookies and they lived happily ever after.

The end. *smile*

Tuesday's Customer Inspiration - Tara's creative touch on multiple Jubilee Furniture pieces!

Apparently all I have to do is write a pathetic post like last week's in order to have wonderful customers email me fabulous photos! Just a reminder, here's the skinny on Tuesday customer inspiration:

1.) you buy something from Jubilee Furniture

2.) you take it home and either
a.) use it exactly as it is when you purchased it or
b.) transform it into something even more amazing

3.) you live your life and sort of forget about Jubilee Furniture until you see some freckle faced, curly haired, middle age woman and remember me and how I sort of made you promise to email me photos of what you purchased

4.) you take a photo (or photos) of said furniture and email me at sgalbraith@outreachcommin.org

5.) you live happily ever after - guaranteed!

I've mentioned Tara before when her friend, Shelli, sent in amazing photos of some $25 chairs she transformed and her refinished West Elm table (read/see more about it here) - but today's spotlight is totally on Tara! In the email Tara sent the subject line is overwhelming guilt - do I know how to spread it or what?!

These first photos are of Tara's daughter's room and a triple mirror that Tara purchased from Jubilee Furniture and then sanded, primed and painted black to match the black dresser (which she had also sanded/primed/painted). It's amazing how a coat of black paint will unify pieces and make them look wonderful! I LOVE the green color on the walls too!

Tara reupholstered this bench with some really neat fabric and when I asked her about it she said she bought several yards -but wasn't sure what she was going to do with it - until she purchased the bench and realized the material would be perfect (and it is!). This sweet bench sits just inside Tara's front door.

The photo top left is actually taken in the store and then here's the same chair - in new form - in Tara's living room! Tara writes, The chair was the hardest! I used a canvas material that doesn't have much give, so it was difficult to get a smooth line. I did like it so much that I put in in the living room instead of my daughter's desk! Nice job, Tara - it's look great!

The lamp, hot-pink chair and artwork are all from Jubilee - and the lamp got a fabulous make-over! The lamp shade was designed by Tara's 9 year old daughter. How fun!

Tara ends her email with these words: You know how much fun Shelli and I have coming and searching for treasures! I encourage everyone to come in and donate and also see what awesome pieces you get in. It's a win-win-win for everyone!

Couldn't have said it better myself, Tara. Thank you so much for the amazing photos of your gorgeous home!

And thank you, dear reader, for stopping by! Hope to see you here again on Friday when I'll have TONS of new-to-us furniture to show you!
