Lamenting slavery and celebrating it's ending at the same time

I hope you'll take some time this week to educate yourself (if you aren't already) about the importance of Juneteenth and the powerful declaration our country made by ending slavery (are there new forms of slavery and atrocities still occurring today? Unfortunately, yes - but I hope that spurs us on to be part of making changes and not immobilize us to do nothing). As important as this historic day is - we know it's confusing to customers when we're closed (especially since we're not open every day) - so both stores will be open normal business hours on Thursday! 

Everyone at Jubilee Furniture was actually off on Monday to commemorate Juneteenth - so yesterday was super busy for me since I had three days of donor inquiries to respond to - so when I finally stopped to take photos - the showroom lights had been turned off and instead of turning them back on - I took that to mean I should wrap up quickly! Haha! 

So not a million photos but a few of some things that caught my eye! 

this is a gorgeous king size Room & Board bed from their Hale Collection! Retails for $2,999 (in the maple with charcoal stain). Ours is priced $1,150 (so more than 50% OFF retail price!). 

USED king size mattress for $245

beautiful full size velvet headboard, footboard and side rails - the fabric is pleated and almost looks like wide wale corduroy. In excellent condition and priced $145. USED full size box spring for $60. Someone threw a used twin size mattress on top of the box spring and it hasn't been priced yet

great trunk - finished on all sides - measures: 2' by 40" and stand 20" tall. 

In fantastic condition and priced $55

I have two more Room & Board beds to show you - this one is a queen size WITH FOUR DRAWERS (two on each side) for storage underneath the bed! From their Hudson Collection - and again maple wood with charcoal stain. Retails for $2,199. We're selling ours for $895.

and then this queen size bed from their Anton Collection - in white oak this time - which retails for $2,799. Our price is $795 and I know this bed came to us in pieces and our amazing volunteer, Dick, had to do some work to put it all together. USED queen size mattress for $195

two matching leather chairs - one is priced $210 and the other $225. Obviously, there's some minor flaw in the cheaper one but I couldn't find it!

Ready for a "smalls' BOGO sale?

I ask because our Carol Stream store is having one! If you can eat off it or drink from it - it's probably part of our buy one get one free sale! I dislike when there are a bunch of exclusions - and there aren't a BUNCH - but there are some exclusions (sorry!). Included in the BOGO sale are home décor pieces and mirrors (bit of an odd grouping but - hey! we'll take it!).

As Jean points out with her sign - Sunday IS Father's Day! As someone who grew up with an absentee father - this holiday was always hard for me but I had an incredible uncle who stood in the gap as well as a mother who beautifully filled both roles. Unfortunately, they're both "late" (any of you The No. 1 Ladies' Detective Agency readers? I love that series for it's simplicity and slower rhythm) but I digress and it's only the second paragraph! Doesn't bode well for the rest of this post! 

SO - without anymore talk about death and hard holidays - I took the  following photos to try to intrigue you enough to stop in for a closer look at what's included in our BOGO sale (just to be super clear - not everything you see in these photos is part of the sale - but a lot of it is!):

and then this innocent looking ottoman has a secret! There's a table that smoothly lifts up and out when opened! Push down on the red level to carefully lower it back into place until needed again. There's storage UNDER the table which would be perfect for board games (or whatever).

wheels and easily rolls wherever you might want/need it!

two matching Interior Crafts down filled loveseats (small sofas?). Both are in excellent condition and so comfortable! Priced $295 each. Very nice wood and glass insert coffee table has been reduced 25% and is now $48.75 (coffee table measures: 40" by 49" and is 17 1/2" tall)

I wish someone would put a thinner mattress on this excellent condition emerald green velvet daybed because I think it would quickly sell if you could see how it works well as a sofa! Just image it's 

heaped with lots of pillows and ready to embrace you like a warm hug when you sit down!

I kinda feel like I've shown you this before? Full size storage bed with a bookcase headboard, SIX drawers on the side and an opening in the footboard where you can store - camping gear? Whenever June rolls around I remember June is when I started this blog and I go back to see how many years I've been writing it - and this past June 4th was 16 years!
