Tuesday's customer inspiration - Danice and Jack's lovely living room!

So glad you stopped by for today's installment of customer inspiration where a customer provides photos of things they've purchased from Jubilee Furniture and how amazing the items look in their home - either exactly as they looked leaving the store or after some spiffing up!

Today's post includes some spiffing up! I first met Danice just a couple of days before she was getting married to Jack. They were having an outdoor wedding and needed some extra seating and she stopped in the store and found exactly what she was looking for! The wedding was beautiful and Danice and Jack have been stopping in at Jubilee every now and then ever since. Danice is creative and has a good eye when it comes to spotting things that have clean lines and good "bones" but need some work (just like Shelli, Brooke, Caroline, Theresa, Jean, Megan, Alice and John and Deanna).

The ottoman in this photo was pretty ratty, if I'm remembering correctly, when Danice purchased it - but look how amazing it is now! I love the woven material she used on the bottom part! The chair in the background also needed some love and Danice found this gorgeous slipcover for only $40 at Overstocked.com.

Here's another view of the amazing ottoman and, I believe, Danice also purchased the chair in the corner from Jubilee. I love all the pillows! What a great place to kick back and relax (having a couple of dogs also sends a warm and welcoming, come-as-you-are message!).

Thanks for coming by, dear reader and I hope to see you here again on Friday for my weekly update!

Tuesday's customer inspiration - Shelli's fabulous dining room!

Welcome to Tuesday's customer inspiration and Shelli's gorgeous dining room! Both the table and all six chairs were purchased from Jubilee Furniture and all items needed some TLC - but that didn't deter Shelli! The chairs were $25 each and actually are very comfortable and well built (retro Falcon brand chairs). The table is a beautiful West Elm piece but the top was damaged.

Here's one of the chairs - as seen in the store - it has great lines (see the original post here about this donation)

Here's the table and chairs in Shelli's home pre-refinished. Great "bones," all pieces need some lovin'!

With a dark stain on the chairs, new fabric on the seats and a refinished table top (topped with glass) - Shelli turned these unrelated pieces into a cohesive and fantastic looking set!

Unfortunately, all the photos Shelli sent me didn't make it from her iphone to my computer - because I'd love to show you an up-close of one of the chairs - they really turned out beautifully. I love the darker stain and fabric Shelli selected for the seat cushions. Truly love.

Shelli purchased two more chairs - and from the looks of it could easily pull 'em up to that fabulous table - though hasn't refinished them yet (hadn't as of Friday - she's pretty amazing and might have refinished them by today! :-).

Shelli - and good friend, Tara - are regular Friday afternoon customers and both have wonderful design sense, a great eye, and the willingness to invest some sweat equity into creating beautiful spaces for their families!

Well done, Shelli and many thanks!

Tara? Your turn!

Have you purchased something from Jubilee Furniture that you've either transformed - as Shelli did - or - are using just as it is and would be willing to take a photo or two and email me at sgalbraith@outreachcommin.org so you can help inspire others? If so, that would be GREAT!

Thanks for stopping by and take care, dear reader!

Update from last Friday's post: many, many donation calls and emails have come in over the last few days - so thank you for your prayers! I'll have TONS of stuff to show you this Friday!

Review of past Tuesday Customer Inspirations!

Welcome to my Tuesday post were I normally showcase something someone has purchased from Jubilee Furniture and how amazing it looks in their home. Either exactly as it looked when it left the store or how the customer transformed the item. All that's required is for you to take a few photos and email me at sgalbraith@outreachcommin.org. Couldn't be simpler. And we certainly haven't had a shortage of customers, yet no emails were forth coming this week.

Instead of crying and moaning about it (something, you know, I'm not above doing!), I thought I'd provide links to previous Tuesday posts and let you merrily click away!

Romy and Jeremy's gorgeous dining room!

Good morning and welcome to Romy and Jeremy's beautiful home (well, one room of their lovely home - though I would love to see the rest of your place, Romy -hint, hint :-)!

Romy called me on Friday asking for more information about the stack of Room & Board rugs I had mentioned in my post that morning. Two of the ones I described to her sounded like they might work, so Romy and her husband, Jeremy, decided to make the drive out to see 'em for themselves. The rest you might say, is rug love history!

Here's what Romy wrote: As promised, here are a couple pics of the fabulous Room & Board rug we purchased from your equally fabulous store! We wanted to lay it out just to make sure it worked before taking it in for a cleaning...and it does! We think it works perfectly and are still just as thrilled about the find of a liftetime today as we were when we picked it up! The trip out from the city during a rainy Friday rush hour was well worth the white knuckle trek!

This Room & Board rug is called "Shadow" and I might have used the word "mottled" in trying to describe it to Romy over the phone - and yet she still came out (though truth be told, she did go to the R&B website to get a better look of it online)

I am totally in love with everything in this photo. The angled furniture. Mismatched chairs. Fabric on the chairs. Bird artwork. Table, especially the stacked wood bases. Dark hard-wood floors. White trim. Soft gray wall color. Interesting little curio cabinet thingie. Clean lines of the open shelf china cabinet. Spot of green from the plant. Color of the granite counter top. Piece of driftwood on top of the china cabinet. And last but not least - their new Jubilee Furniture shadow rug! It looks amazing!

Romy and Jeremy - thank you so much for allowing us into your gorgeous dining room!

And you, dear reader, I hope to see you back here on Friday! Until then, have a good week!

Tuesday's customer inspiration - Romy and Jeremy's beautiful dining room!

Today's customer inspiration is suppose to showcase a beautiful Room & Board rug that Romy and Jeremy purchased Friday night shortly before we closed (and after making a long, rainy trip from the city). Alas, I'm home with a horrid cold and, of course, can't seem to save Romy's photos on my laptop.

So, my Tuesday customer inspiration post will have to wait until I'm back in the office tomorrow (thankfully, I'm feeling better). Trust me, Romy and Jeremy's dining space is well worth the wait! It's gorgeous.

I'm sorry, dear reader! Hope to see you tomorrow!

(I took this photo of the tree in our front yard last Monday after the ice storm - not as nice as Romy and Jeremy's dining room but better than nothing?)

Tuesday's customer inspiration - Caroline's lovely living room!

Happy March 1st! It's a sunny, beautiful day in DuPage County and though chilly - there's a hint of spring in the air (okay, maybe I'm making that up). The last week or so, I've been seeing and hearing geese and they're flying NORTH - so that gives me hope! I can remember a time when the honking of geese was an "event" and you went running outside to see 'em and their cool "V" formation in the sky! Now geese stay in the area year round and are messy and rather aggressive at times. Uh-oh, I better stop before I go any further down the "good ol'days" road again!

Today I have the pleasure of showing you some of the things Caroline has purchased from Jubilee Furniture over the last few months and how lovely they look in her amazing home! Caroline writes: It did occur to me that I have quite a collection now {of Jubilee Furniture furniture} and that I have only photographed a few of my treasures. That means that there is certainly a second email yet to come! I can't thank Jubilee enough for helping me decorate my new home! {Woot - for a possible second email down the road!}

In the first picture was a dresser that was originally white with purple butterflies stenciled on it....I loved the wheels and turned it into a sideboard for my dining room! The chair (I bought 3) was oak with a different (not pleasing to me) fabric on the seats. Just $12 in paint some new knobs and about $12 in fabric from Hobby Lobby and I couldn't be happier! {Wow - both pieces look fabulous, Caroline! I can't believe the dresser is the same piece!}

In the next picture is the wonderful chair and table that I purchased (sorry that it's fuzzy) an Ikea sheep skin hides a small tear. I am just crazy for the hob-nails on this chair! {I totally LOVE this chair and love your solution for covering the rip! Though a little hard to see, the lamp, and especially lamp shade, are fantastic!}

The next picture shows my living including one of my crazy cats (TJ short for Toe Jam). {What a great mix of furniture/patterns/styles - but they work! I love it! Can I pretend that TJ is short for Thomas John or Trader Joe's or something OTHER than Toe Jam? That's a little gross.}

The last picture is of the wonderful couch that I purchased. It may not be the fabric of my dreams, {the sofa looks great with the rest of the room, Caroline!} but it works and at an incredible price! {The wall of artwork behind the couch is really, really nice! I seem to remember the wooden chair by the back window - did you buy that at Jubilee too?}

Caroline, I love how you've mixed textures and patterns and have angled your furniture in a very welcoming and warm way! Your wall color is also a great back-drop as is your white trim and curtain-less windows! Great accent pieces add interest and are fun and shiny!

What a lovely home! Can't wait to see part two!

But until then, maybe you've purchased something lovely from Jubilee Furniture and would be willing to take a photo (or two or three) and email me at sgalbraith@outreachcommin.org so that you can inspire others!

We have great donations coming in this week so I'll see you back here on Friday for a sneak peek!

Here's to geese flying north, sunshine, March 1st and you, dear reader!

Take care!
