Why thank you for asking!

Welcome! It's been a while since I've answered some FAQs - so thought I do a quick recap before we dive in!

Q: Do you BUY furniture that you then resell?

A: No, our inventory is 100% DONATED. We don't buy anything. We do provide an IRS approved donation receipt for every donation (whether that donor can - or can't - take a tax deduction for the donation I don't know! Hey - I'm no tax expert!).

Q: Do I get some type of tax break for BUYING furniture from you?

A: No. Though Jubilee Furniture is a social enterprise of Outreach - a registered 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization in Illinois - you're purchasing an item from us just as if you were buying a candy bar at the gas station. Which is also why we charge sales tax on your purchase.

Q: Who or what is Outreach?

A: The short answer is we're a faith-based, social service agency assisting those most vulnerable in DuPage County. The longer answer can be found on our website.

Q: Why do your prices seem higher than a few years ago?

A: Though we want to have affordable options available for someone on a tight budget we've been working extremely hard to find high end, better quality pieces since we can charge more for them and make more money for Outreach!

Q: But the furniture is FREE so isn't any amount you make "gravy"?

A: This is an especially great question. Yes, technically the furniture is free since it's donated to us - but let me fill you in on some of the behind the scene costs. Though we don't charge for donation pickup - our pickup team is two paid employees driving a truck (that frequently needs repairs) that gets six miles per gallon of gas. Also, I'm a paid Outreach employee. There's quite a bit of "cost" in acquiring every piece we put on the floor. Add in the off-loading of the truck, moving the furniture onto the floor, the time to price and arrange (though some of this is done by volunteers) you start to better understand that this "free" furniture is not free at all! Some of these costs impact what price we end up putting on the furniture as well as the original retail price and what similar pieces are selling for on other sites (and I didn't even get into the cost to maintain our building and internet and heating and AC...).

Q: I think I might like volunteering - how do I go about doing so?

A: We have a volunteer application here and someone will follow up with you after you complete it! You can also talk to anyone on the showroom floor about their experience and to learn more about volunteering! I can promise you it's a lot of fun!

Q: I have something to donate! What's the process?

A: We have an online donation form you complete that requires photos of the furniture you want to donate. We do screen out all furniture if there's a smoker in the home and all upholstered furniture if any family pets. We're looking for furniture still in excellent condition. We also require everything we pick up be in your garage.

Moving on - what follows are photos of some of our current inventory but there's tons more!

though this nine drawer dresser (donor told me it's teak) needs a little work (some stains on the wood) - it's so, so, pretty! It measures: 18" by 76" and stands only 27" tall! Third photo down (or up) is trying to show you how short this piece is compared to other dressers. I think it would be perfect for a large flat screen TV! Love everything about this (included the "floating" base
that seem to almost disappear!). Priced $495

I'm having trouble with my photos loading and the one showing this light gray futon set up as a couch got lost! There are a few small spots on the fabric but overall in great shape and priced $95

there's something about the shape of these chairs - and this whole set - that I think is super attractive! Table is 40" by 64" with two 18" leaves (and one leaf is in the table in these photos) and six chairs (two with arms). Last photo show some damage on one of the leaves but overall in
very good condition and priced $285

two matching (though arm is on opposite side) Room & Board chaises -
in excellent condition and priced $375 each

Room & Board leather chair and ottoman - the perfect amount of wear (in my opinion) - priced $525

Lazboy leather loveseat - both ends recline! In very good condition and priced $375

gorgeous glass with acrylic legs coffee table for $195

Heywood Wakefield small cabinet in very good condition and priced $75

sweet cabinet for $65. For the life of me I could NOT open the doors on this piece! They wiggle so don't seem stuck - it's almost like they're locked or something! So strange!

Stanley brand wine cabinet - space for wine bottles and for your wineglasses! There are
several marks on the top of this piece - but overall in good condition.
Measures: 19 1/2" by 6' by 43" tall and priced $145

we have FIVE of these IKEA bookcases (11" by 23 1/2" by 79 1/2" tall). Three are priced $25 each and two are $35 each . As you can see - they're standing immediately in front of each other - so I'm not sure why the difference in pricing. What I could see seems okay!

I hope you have a chance to stop in and see the rest of our inventory for yourself, dear reader! It's frustrating because about half of my photos didn't upload! (Good grief!)
