World War I – known at the time as “The Great War” – officially ended when the Treaty of Versailles was signed on June 28, 1919, in the Palace of Versailles outside the town of Versailles, France. However, fighting ceased seven months earlier when an armistice, or temporary cessation of hostilities, between the Allied nations and Germany went into effect on the eleventh hour of the eleventh day of the eleventh month. For that reason, November 11, 1918, is generally regarded as the end of “the war to end all wars.”
Veterans Day continues to be observed on November 11, regardless of what day of the week on which it falls. The restoration of the observance of Veterans Day to November 11 not only preserves the historical significance of the date, but helps focus attention on the important purpose of Veterans Day: A celebration to honor America’s veterans for their patriotism, love of country, and willingness to serve and sacrifice for the common good.

As a very practical way to thank all those serving in our armed forces (or have served) - our Carol Stream store will take 20% off your entire purchase. Simply show your military ID at the register when you're checking out. Thank you - from the bottom of our hearts - for your service.
Additionally, we're having a "buy one get one free" (of equal or lesser value) décor (which includes china and crystal), lighting and Christmas sale! There are some exceptions and sale does NOT include art, area rugs or furniture. This sale is also exclusively at our Carol Stream store!
So what follows are a few photos of pieces I spied at our Carol Stream store that I wanted to share! Lots more inventory if you have the time to stop in!
I absolutely LOVE this one piece hutch! Love the blue color and distressed finish! Priced $175
4' round glass top table with four chairs (the chairs are stackable!). Overall a very nice set (chairs are super comfortable to sit in) and priced $225. Colorful fake flowers in a basket are $40 (and then you could select another décor, lighting or Christmas item for $40 or less and GET IT FOR FREE!)
wonderful game table! The game table "top" can easily be removed AND folds in half for storage! Then you have a simple round pedestal table! Priced $195. I did see wear/marks on the "feet" of the pedestal base. Four rolling chairs - all in very good condition - priced $195 for all four.
They're actually too short for this table (though look nice in the photos!)
two very cool lounge chairs - definitely for lounging! Not for sitting upright. Some minor
wear on the chairs. Priced $75 each. New triangular side table for $75
this is a pristine looking SLEEPER sofa (just in time for any holiday guests you
might have staying over!) priced $175
love the industrial "vibe" this 35" round coffee table is giving off! Stands 15" tall and though it looks like a metal top - I don't think it is. Perfect condition and priced $65
this is a GORGEOUS muted turquoise velvet sofa! So classic with a fun shape to the arms!
In excellent condition and priced $725
Lazboy brand corduroy sofa in excellent condition and priced $245
I could not find a scratch or mark on this dining table (42" by 66") with one 18" leaf and
six chairs (two with arms)! Truly it looks new! Priced $695
if I had a spot for this two piece hutch in my home - I would totally buy it! Classic clean lines - tons of storage - very good condition! What's not to love?! Haha! Measures: 20 1/2" by 63 1/2" and stands 79" tall. Priced $325 (not sure what the extra knobs are for - but they're in a one of the drawers). Partial set of lovely holiday dishes for $49 - again, buy 'em and then get another décor, lighting or
Christmas item of equal or lesser amount for FREE
