Last week marked 19 years that I've been working at Jubilee Furniture and I started the blog about 2 1/2 years later and I find myself reflecting back a lot these days.
From our beginning as a "temporary" way to sell off a large furniture donation from a local hotel in February of 2006 (operating out of the Wheaton Christian Church building) to moving into our current location in 2014 it's been incredible to see how the store has grown and changed!
Below is our most recent change - improving the ramp that leads you into "bedroom land." We're in our final phase (I believe it's the final phase!) - of improvements (Connie pointed out we've been living with some construction project or other for 11 years!). So if you haven't taken the time to explore the store - please do! This ramp leads to another showroom that houses most of our bedroom furniture and there's a lot to see!
Also in this section you'll also see stairs and an elevator and I mentioned in another post recently that's to access the second floor where our Employment Opportunity Program is located. It's a lovely space for our staff and students - but there's no furniture for sale up there which is why we have ropes blocking access. 😊
If you do make your way to the farthest WEST side of the store - you'll find this FABULOUS bedroom set! So, let's take a look at some photos I snapped!
this is such a fun combination of sunny yellow furniture from Ethan Allan! One of the small dressers is a slightly different color and the cabinet with the hutch that has two doors has different hardware (fyi). Here's pricing for these pieces: mirror $35; corner desk $45; all three of the two piece dresser w/hutch are priced $85 each and the one slightly different color dresser is $55 AND we have two twin size headboards that are $35 each. Overall, everything is in very good condition!
Broyhill dresser that's been recently beautifully painted (with touch up paint included!)
and is priced $325
lovely antique? full size headboard, footboard and side rails for $125. There is a small issue with the trim. A piece has broken off on one side (see last two photos) but otherwise in good condition!
USED full size mattress has been sold and I didn't see a price on the USED box spring (sorry!)
oh my - the trim/carving on this dresser are gorgeous! A knob is missing from the ornate drawer (screw is there but no knob) but otherwise in great condition and priced $175
this NINE piece sectional isn't going to be everyone's cup of tea but I absolutely LOVE it! Can be configured multiple ways and there is some wear on the fabric but if you've struggled to find something that would fit down (or up) stairs the fact this separates into so
many pieces just might work for you! Priced $185
there are some wear marks/spots on both of these brown velvet, tufted back chairs but still,
overall, in good condition and priced $65 each
here's a five piece sectional with a sleeper, a chaise and a recliner! It's in great condition EXCEPT the mattress in the sleeper section needs to be replace (we didn't throw it out because you need the height from the mattress for the sofa part to sit right but if you want to use as a
bed you'll want to replace the mattress) - priced $155
great colors on this striped side chair (in good condition) and priced $55
two piece Ashley Furniture sectional - in good condition - and priced $195
this retro Union City Mirror & Table Co. ornate mirror - just might be the coolest thing ever!
This puppy is HEAVY and large! In excellent condition and priced $115
So, if you have time - I'd highly recommend checking out what's "new" at Jubilee Furniture, dear reader! As always thank you for stopping by and I hope you're doing well!
